Johnson 6 is a 37-bed medical unit with private rooms and several four-bed overflow rooms. The unit has one negative pressure room and is equipped to accommodate behavioral health patients, including those on suicide precautions. Patients on Johnson 6 are typically aged 16 years and older with chronic medical conditions; the patient population generally ranges from 20 to 90 years old due to the variety of medical conditions treated. Admissions come from internal medicine, medical oncology, hospice, infectious disease, behavioral health, thoracic surgery and renal services. Common Medical Diagnoses Pancreatitis Cerebral vascular accident Dementia Delirium Failure to thrive Cancer Substance abuse issues Common Nursing Diagnoses Nutritional deficit Safety (Fall risk) Alteration in skin integrity Alteration in body image Cellulitis Pain management Powerlessness On Johnson 6, a unit-based Pharmacist supports RN staff on weekdays, enabling collaboration for quality outcomes through complex pharmaceutical interventions and provider order management. Qualified candidates Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license Minimum of 1 year of RN acute or post-acute care experience BSN preferred BCLS required Pay Range $36.00 - $79.12 This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay at this time. The pay range is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will be compensated in accordance with the applicable agreement.
