Job Title Patient Registrar Overnight Shift

Location Transylvania Regional Hospital

Job Summary As a registrar, you will be responsible for timely and accurate patient registration, interviewing patients for all pertinent account information and verifying insurance coverage to ensure quality, efficient care.

Responsibilities

Interview patients at workstations or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information, using bedside registration carts/computers on wheels.

Provide exemplary customer service.

Ensure charts are complete, accurate, and all necessary signatures are obtained.

Verify all insurance details and obtain pre‑certification/authorization as required.

Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.

Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.

Interview incoming patients, relatives, and other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and demographic information along with insurance and financial details.

Assign insurance plans accurately and verify benefits, determining pre‑certification/authorization status via online or other resources.

Secure all signatures necessary for treatments, medical information release, insurance benefit assignment, and payment of services from legally responsible parties, obtaining copies of identification and insurance cards.

Understand and explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts.

Qualifications

1 year of related experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
