Veterinary Technician, Full-Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Check patient medical records for past histories, enter into computer and file.
Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
Admits and discharges patients.
Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
Perform laboratory tests (ear cytologies, fecals, bloodwork, etc.).
Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
Administer medications to patients as needed.
Place catheters and perform blood draws.
Surgical prep, monitoring, and patient recovery.
Perform dental procedures.
Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
Take x-rays.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be able to multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. We are looking for a full‑time team member who is able to work weekends on a rotating schedule and has excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Education / Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Texas are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
