The Lab Supervisor receives authority from the Operations Manager and is accountable for the successful completion of assigned duties. The role requires leadership of producer testing operations, ensuring quality standards, managing resources, training staff, and maintaining a safe, efficient laboratory environment. Responsibilities
Lead all producer testing operations and reporting. Design and use quality measures that meet or exceed ISO/IEC 17025, government regulations, client expectations, and company requirements. Verify sample integrity, accurate processing, and timely communication of results. Manage supply levels, equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs. Coordinate safety investigations and communicate findings to management. Follow Quality System documents and maintain clear communication with clients, management, coworkers, and staff. Plan resource allocation to meet client due dates. Recruit, train, and conduct performance reviews for staff reporting to this position. Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution. Assist in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for assigned responsibilities. Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Adhere to all pertinent company health, safety, and environmental regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education
College degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field. Experience
Five (5) or more years in an equivalent Food or Dairy Laboratory Services Industry. Preferred: Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in a leadership role. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Wide range of knowledge related to the Dairy Testing Industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability and desire to work cooperatively and effectively in a team-based organization. Compensation
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year. Schedule
Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; occasional off‑shift work as needed. Benefits
