Responsibilities Essential Functions

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities of assigned department and staff to ensure goals and objectives are achieved during assigned shifts.

Identifies excess inventory, returning stock and processing credits; notifies supervisor of outdates or slow-moving inventory.

Oversees and coordinates the distribution of materials and supplies to ensure a safe and timely delivery to designated locations.

Provides support and oversight for onboarding and training new staff members.

Responsible for replenishment of warehouse / storeroom ordering.

Assists with supply availability during backorders or substitutions, ensuring timely product availability.

Responsible for maintaining equipment and vehicles to ensure safe operations, where applicable.

Assist in the creation and updates of order guides / par locations, storeroom organization, and labeling system upkeep to ensure an efficient ordering and inventory process.

Effectively works with corporate for item add/activations, contract issues and item integrity.

Assists with conversions to ensure they are thoroughly completed. Update order guides, SOPs, and preference cards, when applicable.

Drive Supply Chain strategies in the department and hospital locations.

Maintains warehouse and par locations, including accurate replenishments, organization, labeling systems, and periodic par evaluations and adjustments.

Follows procedures for accurate receiving and delivery of shipments. Reconciles paperwork and issues to completion.

Participates in putaway and validation process of perpetual inventory items, and issues and credits materials from the inventory management point-of-use system.

Develops and maintains relationships with clinical leaders and teams.

Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service.”

Generates inventory and other specialty reports, as needed.

Processes and logs all system file updates related to product additions and modifications.

Perform regular cycle counts.

Conducts random audits and quality assurance checks in various supply locations.

Daily and weekly rounding with various departments within the facility.

Present a consistent professional image in dress and communications.

Provides support for annual or bi-annual inventory counts to determine asset values and additional inventory as requested.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.

Other Related Functions

Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge. Effectively works as a liaison for nursing departments.

Capable of performing all aspects of the operational and automated procedures within the assigned department. This will include, but is not limited to, order processing, requisitioning, receiving, report production, charging and crediting supplies to various departments and GL accounts.

Collaborate with other department leaders to close operational gaps.

Ability to drive department owned vehicles.

Operates supply chain equipment as needed.

Qualifications Education / Training

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Valid driver’s license.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).

Experience with use of heavy equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, dock equipment, etc., preferred.

Ability to act independently.

Demonstrates imitative, dependability, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to review information and take action.

An Associate’s degree can substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.

A Bachelor's degree can substitute for up to four (4) years of the required experience.

Licensure / Certification

None.

Experience

Six (6) years of experience in warehouse, inventory or customer service; required.

Familiarity with automated supply chain inventory management systems.
