Overview

Manager, Wound Clinic at Beacon Health System. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Wound Care Clinic. Responsibilities include planning, organizing and overseeing staff and operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care, and serving as a key contact for physicians and staff. The role supports program development and administration, maintains intra- and interdepartmental relations, and acts as a community/physician liaison for the program. Responsibilities

Accessible to staff as a resource for clinical and administrative issues. Maintains visibility in the wound clinics and leads by example. Completes and administers employee performance evaluations within designated timeframes. Oversees employee issues that may result in disciplinary action. Recruitment/hiring and retention, as well as overseeing termination processes. Makes routine checks on the quality of care delivered to patients. Monitors the accuracy of patient charges daily. Oversees the development of patient billings, medical records and office activities and monitoring fees and reimbursement. Mentors and counsels employees to ensure optimal performance. Provides direct day-to-day operational supervision of all clinic personnel. Contacts patients to follow up on complaints. Workload Coordination

Oversees scheduling of patients for the clinic. Adjusts staffing based on changes in workload/patient care needs. Completes and posts employee work schedules within designated timeframes. Financial Management

Responsible for overall financial performance of the department. Prepares the annual budget and manages/controls expenses. Reviews monthly responsibility reports and variance reporting. Training And Education

Attends all mandatory in-services and organizes orientation of new employees. Performs in-services to clinic staff and other health professionals as requested. Conducts regular unit meetings to communicate directives, policies and procedures. Maintains current CPR certification. Arranges staff educational meetings. Coordination Of Wound Clinic

Coordinates quality improvement activities in the wound clinics and acts as a resource for physicians. Keeps clinic policies and procedures current, aligning them across clinics where possible. Ensures compliance of wound care with regulatory agencies. Recommends equipment needs to the Director to maintain cost-effective operations. Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and ensures malfunctioning equipment is fixed or replaced cost-effectively. Collaborates on marketing and advertising for the clinic. Leadership And Organizational Responsibilities

Participates in continuous quality improvement and partners with medical directors to set metrics and monitor data trends with clinical staff. Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned. Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree required. 1 to 2 years of job-related experience in an ambulatory setting or equivalent. Wound clinic experience preferred. 2 to 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a clinic setting preferred. Current CPR certification required. Knowledge & Skills

Working knowledge of general medical office methods, practices and procedures. Understanding of clinical responsibilities and support for safe clinical care. Knowledge of third-party reimbursement procedures and requirements (Medicare/Medicaid and private carriers). Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and coding processes. Proficiency in computer skills and EMR systems. Strong leadership, organization and analytical skills; ability to resolve day-to-day problems. Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Working Conditions

Work in a patient care environment and office setting; ability to handle stressful conditions. Exposure to potentially hazardous or contagious agents and chemicals. Physical Demands

Moderate to heavy lifting, bending, pushing, stooping or standing required.
