The Role
TIME is seeking a web producer to help bring TIME’s high-impact lists and franchises to life online—publishing fast, accurately, and with strong SEO—while supporting an ambitious expansion across the
Franchises + Accolades
portfolio. You’ll sit on the
Web Production
team and collaborate closely with editors to meet demanding timelines and uphold TIME’s editorial standards. Responsibilities
Produce TIME lists and franchise packages for web, optimizing them for readability, experience, and revenue. Build collection items end-to-end in the CMS: input text and photos, complete back-end fields, and apply SEO best practices for consistency and quality across large list packages. Implement and QA affiliate links for assigned projects (e.g., Best Inventions), coordinating with editors to ensure accurate, trackable links are live and maintained. Maintain rigorous pre- and post-publish QA (formatting, image crops, alt text/accessibility, metadata, canonicals/redirects) and ensure clean cross-linking across hubs and category pages. Communicate proactively, track tasks clearly, and surface obstacles early; partner across edit, photo, design, and marketing to keep launches on schedule. Support broader web production needs as capacity allows, including CMS migration tasks, search optimization, and curation of the homepage and recirculation units. Professional experience in web production within a newsroom or digital publishing environment, with strong attention to detail and consistency. Hands‑on with WordPress (or similar CMS), plus working comfort with
Google Docs
and/or
Airtable
for intake and tracking. Solid
SEO
fundamentals (metadata, internal linking, headline/dek best practices) and excellent editorial judgment. Familiarity with
affiliate

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates for the role must be within a commutable distance of TIME’s New York City or Washington D.C. office upon hire and may be expected to be physically present as needed (typically 3 days/week). More About TIME
