Buyer – Alstom Full‑time, onsite Buyer position located in Atlanta, GA, US.

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and supplier management expertise in a new cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.

You’ll play a critical role in driving supplier selection, contract execution, and ensuring QCDT (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Time) targets are met, particularly during ramp‑up phases. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (legal, engineering, quality, and project leads), actively contribute to the development of commodity strategies, and ensure supplier performance aligns with Alstom’s high standards—and much more.

Responsibilities

You’ll specifically take care of supplier selection and contract management, but also support commodity strategy development and internal stakeholder collaboration.

Leading and managing procurement and supplier contract activities for assigned commodities or project packages.

Driving the full supplier selection process, including preparing supplier contracts and managing contract execution.

Issuing Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and leading supplier negotiations to ensure best value.

Monitoring the evolution of procurement projects, including legal, product development, and business award facets.

Securing adherence to commitments outlined in work package sheets.

Coordinating all contracting activities to ensure on‑time delivery and required quality, especially during project ramp‑ups.

Qualifications

Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience or understanding of procurement processes, supplier selection, and contract management.

Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and quality, cost, delivery, time (QCDT) principles.

Familiarity with ramp‑up phase challenges in complex projects.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., legal, engineering, quality, project leads).

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Analytical and problem‑solving skills to support decision‑making processes.

Knowledge of commodity strategy development and supplier panel management.

Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to Alstom’s Code of Ethics.
