Position Summary L’Arche North Carolina is seeking a mission-driven and relational Outreach Manager to lead our external communications, community engagement, and signature fundraising events. This role is ideal for someone who loves connecting people to a mission through storytelling, gatherings, and consistent communication.
The Outreach Manager is responsible for shaping how L’Arche NC shows up in the community—through newsletters, social media, outreach events, and donor-facing experiences—helping to grow awareness, participation, and philanthropic support. This role works closely with the Executive Director and collaborates across the team to ensure our outreach reflects the heart and values of L’Arche.
Key Responsibilities Outreach, Fundraising & Engagement
Plan and lead major fundraising and community events (e.g., Brunch & Belonging, Sundaes on Sunday, and other signature gatherings)
Coordinate monthly outreach opportunities that invite new and existing supporters into relationship with L’Arche NC
Support donor engagement and stewardship efforts, particularly for donors giving under $5,000, through thoughtful follow-up and personal connection
Track outreach and donor engagement activities using Bloomerang (CRM)
Communications & Storytelling
Write, design, and distribute a monthly e‑newsletter highlighting the impact of L’Arche NC’s mission, community life, and upcoming opportunities
Manage and grow L’Arche NC’s social media presence across platforms, creating engaging, accessible, and mission-aligned content
Support the Executive Director with donor communications, campaign messaging, annual appeals, and impact updates
Assist in developing outreach and communications materials for fundraising campaigns, events, and community partnerships
Volunteer Engagement & Coordination
Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteers for community events and special initiatives.
Develop and maintain a volunteer engagement plan that includes volunteer role descriptions, schedules, communications, recognition, and retention strategies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, match volunteers to meaningful opportunities, and maintain accurate volunteer records.
Coordinate volunteer involvement in outreach and fundraising events, ensuring positive experiences and mission alignment.
Partner with staff and community partners to expand volunteer pipelines and foster inclusive volunteer participation.
Community Presence & Relationship Building
Represent L’Arche NC at community events, faith communities, and partner gatherings
Speak authentically and confidently about the mission and work of L’Arche with diverse audiences
Build relationships with volunteers, families, donors, and community members to expand L’Arche NC’s network of support
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in nonprofit outreach, fundraising, communications, or a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable with public speaking and one‑to‑one relationship building
Familiarity with donor databases (Bloomerang preferred) and email platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact
Social media savvy, with an eye for engaging and accessible content
Passion for disability inclusion and alignment with the mission and values of L’Arche
