The Role We are hiring a Manager, Event Special Projects & Sponsorships to serve as a cross-functional owner for complex, high-impact event initiatives across Deel’s global events organization.

This role is intentionally different from our regional field, partner, and strategic events roles. Rather than owning a defined event portfolio, this person will lead special projects that cut across teams, regions, and event types - including sporting sponsorships, premium hospitality programs, and ad hoc strategic initiatives that require centralized ownership.

Reporting directly into the Director, Events & Regional Field Marketing, this role acts as a force multiplier for the events team - stepping in where initiatives lack a clear owner, require senior coordination, or fall outside existing programs.

What You’ll Do Lead Event Special Projects

Own cross-functional event initiatives that do not sit within a single region, partner program, or experiential track

Act as the accountable owner for high‑complexity or net‑new projects

Drive alignment across Events, Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, and Leadership

Take initiatives from concept to execution and retrospective

Own Sporting Sponsorships & Premium Programs

Lead Deel’s sporting event sponsorship initiatives, including:

Sponsorship event strategy and activation planning

Hospitality, suite, and VIP guest programs

Executive and customer hosting

Manage external partners including teams, leagues, venues, and agencies

Ensure events align with brand, audience, and business objectives

Support the Global Events Team

Partner with global and regional event leads to unblock initiatives that span teams or markets

Step in as additional leadership support during high‑stakes or time‑sensitive moments

Share best practices and learnings across the events organization

Strategic Initiatives & Experimentation

Support ad hoc strategic initiatives tied to company priorities (e.g., new markets, executive programs, flagship moments)

Pilot new formats or approaches that may later scale into formal programs

Bring structure and accountability to initiatives that would otherwise remain fragmented

Governance & Measurement

Own budgets, contracts, and vendor management for assigned projects

Define success metrics appropriate for sponsorships and special initiatives

Capture insights and document learnings for future use

Who You Are

7‑10+ years of experience in events, sports marketing, sponsorships, or experiential marketing

Able to move fast, make decisions, and execute with urgency, especially on high‑visibility initiatives with tight timelines

Proven experience leading non‑standard, high‑profile initiatives

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and influencing across teams without direct authority

Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive audiences

Strong project management and communication skills

Calm, organized, and adaptable in fast‑moving environments

Why This Role Matters As Deel’s global events portfolio grows, not every initiative fits neatly into an existing team or program. This role ensures those initiatives still have clear ownership, strategic direction, and operational excellence, while enabling the rest of the events organization to stay focused on their core mandates.
