Senior Phlebotomist – Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Santa Monica, CA
Full‑time, 8‑hour day shift

Overview

Lead clinical services in our Cancer Center as an experienced Phlebotomy/Clinical Medical Assistant, collaborating with care teams to maintain high‑quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Assist with inventory ordering, receiving, stocking, and control of supplies and equipment.
• Participate in patient exam and procedural room preparation as directed.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and rooms are functional, available, and clean.
• Coordinate repairs and report critical maintenance to management.
• Perform patient greeting, escorting, and EMR logging/charting; handle room turnover and set‑up/break‑down of specialized equipment.
• Conduct patient preparation (height/weight, vital signs, procedural prep) and respond to phone and patient call systems.
• Perform phlebotomy and coordinate specimen collection.
• Contribute to meeting department budgetary objectives.
• Support hospital administration, clinical leadership, and overall operational goals.

Required Qualifications

• Certification, license, or registration meeting the CARES CAP^® requirements.
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License or II License.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant Clinical Technician.
• Minimum 9 months of phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) upon hire.
