Our team of licensed and associate therapists provides compassionate, high-quality care across a variety of specialties, including individual therapy, child and adolescent therapy, family counseling, and marriage counseling. We also support clients navigating challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, grief and loss, trauma, and other mental health concerns.

Role Description Hope Matters Institute is looking for a compassionate and motivated Associate-Level Therapist (ACSW, AMFT, APCC) for a full-time remote position. In this role, you’ll provide relationship counseling, family therapy, and mental health support in a warm, collaborative, and professional environment. We believe in creating a balanced and supportive environment for our therapists.

We’re seeking someone who brings strong common sense, good judgment, and the ability to work independently, while staying engaged with the support and guidance of supervisors and colleagues. This role is ideal for an associate who values flexibility, professionalism, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families.

Qualifications Required: Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or a related mental health field Registered or licensed in California as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC Must reside in California Approximately 1,000 hours of direct client contact already completed toward full licensure Skilled in providing individual counseling, family therapy, and mental health support to diverse client populations Proficient in clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention Strong understanding of psychological principles, counseling techniques, and evidence-based practices Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills Timely documentation is an essential part of quality care; therapists are expected to complete notes within 24 hours of each session. Demonstrated common sense, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred: Experience providing therapy via telehealth platforms Familiarity with CBT, DBT, EMDR, or other evidence-based treatment modalities Bilingual or multicultural counseling experience Prior work in private practice or outpatient settings Strong organizational skills and a collaborative approach to client care
