Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
• Manage patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and follow-up communications.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure the dental office is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures is essential.
• Experience or knowledge in general dentistry.
• Familiarity with dental software open dental is a plus
• Ability to perform medical imaging tasks effectively.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with patients of all ages.
• Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to take vital signs and assist in basic medical assessments.
