What You'll Do:
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Read and follow written procedures.
- Wear and maintain PPE as required.
- Follow site 5S program.
- Calculate gross, tare, and net weights.
- Cover Overtime and/or opens in a regular schedule to keep plant operating efficiently.
- Load and unload melting ovens as scheduled to prepare raw materials for the process.
- Responsible for accurate weighing and mixing of raw materials to manufacture batches of polyurethane.
- Monitor the process reaction and pour the reacting polymer while utilizing a lifting device.
- Unload cured polymer from ovens and palletize for intermediate storage.
- Complete in-process inspection of polymer batches and report non-conformances.
- Clean liners, trays, ovens, racks, and floors as scheduled or directed.
- Maintain necessary records while meeting plant and GDP expectations and record information with high level of accuracy.
- Conform to plant Quality Management System to maintain material traceability through the synthesis process.
- Ability to work on fork lift, electric pallet jack, scales, strapping machine, stretch wrapper, drum mover, drum tipper, skids, etc.
- Obtain and maintain valid fork truck license.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
- Issue maintenance work orders using SAP system.
- Identify, label, and quarantine non-conforming materials.
- Ability to obtain HAZWOPER certification.
- Manage waste generated from the process and its disposal.
- Work closely with engineering to suggest possible process improvements.
- Report daily progress of production to supervisors.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed by your supervisor.
- Follow training progression as defined in the plant Training and Role Matrix.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
- Math skills in order to calculate gross, tare, and net weights.
- Experience with Computers to complete Computer Based Training, Utilize MS Excel, MS Word, and SAP.
- Experience in plastics/manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs frequently.
Work Environment:
- Either 12 hour day shift or 12 hour night shift schedules
- Regular work performed in non-climate-controlled buildings.
- Regular work performed outdoors, exposed to elements.
- Will be lifting 55 lbs frequently.
