Hiring: Cybersecurity Project Manager (Technology Risk & Compliance)

Location: hybrid/Bolingbrook, IL

Role: Project Manager – Cybersecurity & Technology Risk

We’re seeking an experienced

Cybersecurity Project Manager

to lead and deliver enterprise-level

technology risk, security, and compliance initiatives

for a large, well-established retail organization.

This role is ideal for a PM who has successfully managed

risk assessments, control remediation, IAM governance, vulnerability remediation, and audit-driven initiatives

in a structured PMO environment.

This is not a hands-on cybersecurity role. It is a delivery, governance, and coordination role focused on ensuring security and risk projects are executed properly and are audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of

cybersecurity and technology risk initiatives

Own the full project lifecycle: kickoff, planning, execution, governance, and closeout

Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, schedules, and risk logs

Facilitate project meetings, design walkthroughs, and risk & control reviews

Provide weekly and bi-weekly project status updates highlighting risks, control gaps, and remediation progress

Partner with Portfolio Managers on resource and capacity forecasting

Ensure compliance with PMO standards, documentation requirements, gate reviews, and change control

Coordinate with

IT Risk Management (ITRM), Audit, Compliance, and Architecture

teams

Track and maintain governance artifacts, remediation evidence, and validation documentation

Support rollout planning, implementation coordination, and post-implementation lessons learned

Must-Have Qualifications

Experience managing

cybersecurity, technology risk, audit, or compliance projects

Strong understanding of:

Risk assessments

Control remediation

Vulnerability management

IAM governance

Regulatory / audit-driven initiatives

Proven project management experience across the full lifecycle

Experience working within a

PMO-governed enterprise environment

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Ability to translate technical risk into business impact

Nice-to-Have

Experience with

Planview PPM

Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)

Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments

PMP or similar certification
