Salary Details A minimum of $144,413 as the academic base and eligible for faculty practice. The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure. Posting Summary Participate in clinical care of patients with neurological disorders under the administrative structure of the University Medical Group according to a schedule determined by the Chair. The principal activity will be with patients with seizure disorders in the outpatient setting, but will also include several weeks per year of inpatient general neurological consultation service according to a schedule that will be determined by the Chair and that will be similar to that of the other full-time Neurology faculty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Read routine, long‑term electroencephalograms and perform intra‑operative neurophysiologic monitoring according to a schedule determined by the Chair and the Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory.

Conduct clinical and/or laboratory research in seizure disorders.

Participate in the teaching mission of RWJMS to the extent determined in consultation with the Division Chief and Department Chair. This may include teaching and mentoring fellows in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy, teaching Neurology residents and rotating residents in the inpatient and outpatient settings and in small group seminars; teaching medical students in inpatient and outpatient setting, in small group seminars or in formal lectures in the pre‑clinical setting.

Participate in the community service responsibilities of the department in such areas as providing neurological care for indigent patients and teaching or advising lay community groups in the area of seizure disorders according to a schedule to be determined in consultation with the Division Chief.

Attend departmental and institutional faculty meetings.

Read routine and ambulatory EEGs.

Read long‑term EEGs in the EMU and other inpatients.

Participate in an epilepsy surgery program including reading intracranial EEG studies.

See patients with epilepsy in clinic.

Teach medical students and residents, and fellows when a fellowship is available.

Participate in clinical trials.

Research (clinical or basic) is encouraged.

Participate in the general neurology call schedule, and epilepsy weekend call schedule.

Participate in the general neurology consult rotation (3‑4 weeks per year).

Associate Director of Clerkship Program educational role.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience

MD Candidates must be graduates of an ACGME‑accredited neurology residency, be board certified or eligible in neurology, have completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders or related clinical neurosciences, and be eligible for a New Jersey License. Rank and track will be consistent with qualifications.
