Responsibilities The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform complex laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role requires precision, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of laboratory science and technology. Key duties include diagnostics testing on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids; operating and maintaining laboratory equipment; analyzing test results and reporting findings to physicians and other healthcare providers; ensuring quality control and compliance with safety protocols; maintaining accurate patient records and laboratory documentation; and collaborating with healthcare professionals to interpret results and support patient care.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and computer skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and procedures
Certification from recognized bodies
such as MLS/H/C/BB ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists) within 18 months of hire is required.
