Salary A minimum of $126,616 for an assistant professor or $161,587 for an associate professor. The final salary offer will be determined by qualifications, experience, grant‑funding history or potential, and available department or grant funds. Market benchmarks and internal equity will also be considered to ensure fair compensation within Rutgers’ compensation structure.

Preferred Research Areas

Genomic Instability and Cancer Genetics

– Basic, translational, or preclinical research on DNA repair, cancer genomes, radiation therapy mechanisms, tumor–environment interactions, and cancer predisposition syndromes.

Cancer Pharmacology

– Research focused on structure‑guided drug discovery, molecular targets, mechanisms of action and resistance, and emerging modalities such as DNA‑encoded libraries, PROTACs, small molecule drug development, and therapeutic antibody engineering.

Responsibilities / Expectations Faculty will establish or support an independent, innovative, and collaborative research program addressing fundamental questions in cancer biology. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged, with the expectation to develop collaborations with consortium faculty. Qualified candidates will also participate in teaching activities for medical students and residents, and deliver targeted lectures in their area of expertise.
