Academy of General Dentistry
The Opportunity
The Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) is seeking a Clinic Director for its Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program as it transitions from planning to implementation.
This role is intended for a clinician-educator who values thoughtful program leadership and is interested in shaping a modern AEGD grounded in comprehensive care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strong educational culture.
Many academic careers require a choice between tradition and innovation. AIDM was designed to integrate both.
As a Dental Knowledge Enterprise, AIDM brings together the structure of an academic institution with the flexibility of a contemporary clinical environment.
Program Environment The Program The Clinic Director will join the leadership team of a purposefully designed AEGD program with established curriculum, clinical workflows, and faculty structure. The focus of the role is on implementation, refinement, and stewardship.
The Facility Training will occur within a newly constructed 54-chair clinical center, including an onsite Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), designed to support interdisciplinary education and patient care.
Educational Model The program follows a Lead Clinician Model, emphasizing continuity of care, resident responsibility, and collaboration with board‑certified specialists in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Oral Surgery.
Technology Residents will be trained using contemporary digital tools—including AI‑assisted diagnostics, digital workflows, 3D printing, and cloud‑based systems—integrated to support sound clinical judgment and efficient care delivery.
The Leader We Seek We are looking for a Clinic Director whose leadership reflects clarity, professionalism, and high standards.
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
A commitment to mentorship and educational quality
Comfort working within interdisciplinary clinical environments
An interest in continuous improvement and accountability in postgraduate education
Institutional Commitment We ask for high performance, and we provide a high‑performance environment in return.
Top-Tier Compensation:
To attract the best, we pay the best. We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary and generous production bonuses.
Professional Autonomy:
You will report directly to the Chief Clinical Officer but will hold full authority over the General Dentistry Clinic’s educational and clinical direction.
A Culture of Belonging:
We are building a workplace defined by genuine human connection, where small rituals of appreciation are the norm. We believe everyone—provider and patient alike—deserves to feel valued.
Qualifications
DDS or DMD from a CODA‑accredited institution or equivalent
Completion of a CODA‑accredited AEGD or GPR program
Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in comprehensive general dentistry
Preferred: Prior academic or residency leadership experience
Eligibility for dental licensure in the State of Texas
