Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an
Indirect Subcontracts Administrator (a Lead position),
responsible for leading the negotiation, drafting, and management of indirect contracts, including IT services, facilities management, Software as a Service, and professional services. This role will develop and maintain effective working relationships with critical suppliers and will be a founding member of the Indirect and Facilities contracts group at MSS .
This is an onsite role in El Segundo, California.
Position Responsibilities
Produce high quality contract management related products, managing indirect procurements and critical facilities suppliers
Contract Development and Negotiation
Leading the negotiation, drafting, and management of indirect contracts, including IT services, facilities management, and professional services agreements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define contract terms, conditions, scope of work and business risks
Create and execute purchase orders for indirect acquisitions
Risk Management and Compliance
Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with indirect contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations
Develop and implement processes for monitoring and enforcing compliance with contractual obligations
Vendor Relationship and Performance Management
Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors to drive performance, innovation, and value
Financial Oversight and Cost Optimization
Work closely with finance teams to establish and manage budgets for indirect contracts
Identify cost‑saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms to optimize procurement expenditures
Collaborate seamlessly with various departments, including finance, legal, supply chain, contracts, and engineering, to align contract strategies with organizational objectives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.
Proven track record (3+ years) in indirect contract management or supplier management
Exceptional negotiation skills, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal abilities
In‑depth understanding of procurement processes, legal frameworks, and industry best practices.
Familiarity with government regulations and defense contracting requirements
Experience with various types of agreements, including Non‑Disclosure Agreements and other non‑sales agreements
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and work under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Advanced degree or legal qualifications are advantageous
Exceptional drive for continuous learning and working collaboratively with others
Experience working with government contracts, with a focus on aerospace and defense
Experience performing with a significant amount of autonomy and exercising good judgment in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
Experience providing guidance to all levels of management on contractual rights and obligations, risk avoidance and mitigation, strategy, and problem solving
Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
Comprehensive knowledge of the terms and conditions appropriate for different contract types Firm fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Cost plus incentive fee, Time & Material (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, etc.) and their proper use
Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
