Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in overseeing clinical operations and maintaining high standards of resident care. This leadership role is instrumental in compliance, staffing oversight, wound care management, infection control, and ensuring effective communication across the nursing team. The ADON plays a hands-on role in both clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities: Assist the DNS with management duties and quality-of-care oversight Conduct weekly wound and skin rounds Support regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication across all nursing levels Address and meet the nursing and medical needs of residents Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation Coordinate and direct overall nursing service planning Maintain strong knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and standards Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of nursing staff Oversee daily staffing and scheduling Lead and support infection control initiatives Maintain flexibility to respond to urgent or unpredictable needs Qualifications: Active New York State RN License required Minimum 3 years of experience in a Long-Term Care setting 2 years of management experience preferred 1 year of staff education experience preferred Strong communication, leadership, and supervisory skills Ability to work flexible hours as needed Why Join This Team?
