Position Overview University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Clinical Application Analyst Intermediate to support Patient Access Support Services. The role focuses on Epic Cadence scheduling templates and decision trees. The analyst will work semi‑independently under general supervision, providing user consulting, workflow design, testing, documentation, and training development.

Summary of Job Duties

Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify process objectives.

Define system and user workflows to illustrate the sequence of steps and describe logical operations.

Convert user specifications into functional specifications.

Assist with development of implementation plans and communicate scheduled system updates/upgrades to all stakeholders.

Test all system changes and builds to mitigate or eliminate system risks and adverse effects.

Facilitate communication and act as primary liaison between teams, users, and vendors.

Provide regular feedback to team lead and/or management on the status of assigned work.

Review and write clear documentation for system processes, installation, and operating procedures.

Assist with the development of training materials.

Develop reports and extracts; define interface requirements with report writers, data warehouse, and interface teams.

Use cognitive reasoning skills to research problems, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.

Evaluate priority of requests considering patient safety, regulatory requirements, deadlines, and alternative interim solutions.

Document issues, initiate issue tracking and report problems to vendors or IT departments; monitor resolution progress and manage escalation.

Communicate clearly with end users, IT, and operational leadership; obtain governance approvals and keep stakeholders informed of issue status.

Provide mentorship and guidance for other analysts.

Show attention to detail and ability to respond to urgent organizational needs.

Incorporate newly acquired knowledge and skills into actual practice.

Reduce duplication of effort within the department and across the organization.

Actively participate in process and quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma + 7 years IT or patient access/clinical experience. (OR)

Associate’s Degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT, or related field + 5 years IT or patient access/clinical experience. (OR)

Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT, or related field + 3 years IT or patient access/clinical experience. (OR)

Post‑Graduate Degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT or related field + 1 year IT or patient access/clinical experience.

Additional Requirements

Epic Cadence Certification – Must be certified or obtain certification within 12 months.

Salary Information Commensurate with education and experience.
