WHAT YOU’LL DO: This role involves coordinating layouts, preparing technical documents, and overseeing projects from start to finish while ensuring compliance with industry standards. You’ll also provide hands‑on support during construction phases and quickly resolve field challenges to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide field support during construction phases, quickly resolving issues and obstacles.
Apply engineering principles to design telecommunications and low‑voltage systems, including structured cabling, audio‑visual, and security systems.
Prepare bid and contract documents, technical specifications, and layout prints for supervisors or clients.
Coordinate system scope, design layouts, and drawings with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Perform system analysis and develop concepts, layouts, and details for telecommunications and low‑voltage systems.
Oversee projects from inception to final transition, ensuring schedules and resources are managed effectively.
Utilize System Surveyor, Visio, and AutoCAD for design work and perform own design engineering tasks.
Work on existing building renovations and tenant improvements.
Solve complex design problems and maintain strong organizational skills under pressure.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
HS Diploma or trade school
Four (4) or more years of experience with installing and configuring low‑voltage systems: cabling, access control, CCTV, voice/data systems, and communications room layouts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes: BICSI, NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA
Hands‑on experience with System Surveyor, Visio, and AutoCAD
Ability to multitask and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary project teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creativity, enthusiasm, and strong problem‑solving abilities
Experience with renovations and tenant improvements
Ability to work well under pressure and meet budget and timeline objectives
