Warehouse Associate (Night Shift) The Warehouse Associate (Kitting) plays a crucial role in achieving daily objectives related to safety, quality, accuracy, and performance. This position involves picking materials such as sheet metal parts, weldments, electrical components, and fasteners from both internally fabricated and purchased parts as per work orders. These components are then sent to production for equipment assembly relevant to the data center industry. The Warehouse Associate also contributes to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, efficient, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Accurately read and interpret work orders, picking lists, or other instructions to determine components or items required for each kit.

Retrieve components or items from designated storage areas, ensuring proper quantity and quality.

Verify the accuracy of picked items by comparing them to the work order or picking list.

Package and assemble kits according to set standards, following established procedures and guidelines.

Label and mark packages or kits with appropriate identification information.

Maintain accurate records of kit assembly, including tracking quantities, components, and any adjustments made.

Perform routine inventory checks and report any discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.

Communicate any issues or delays in the kitting process to the supervisor or appropriate team members.

Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs by hand and/or move material in a safe manner using a hand truck, electric powered forklift, or other material handling equipment.

Must Have Skills

3+ years of experience in manufacturing/production

3+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment

Forklift Certified preferred (sit-down forklift)

RF scanner proficiency

Material handling expertise

Work Environment The position requires working the night shift from 4 PM to 12:30/4 AM, depending on overtime needs. Saturdays may involve mandatory overtime, but are currently volunteer-based. The role demands a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77032.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
