Position Summary The Warehouse Associate operates a forklift and other material handling equipment for shipping, receiving, and picking. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, scanning, staging, replenishing, stacking, counting, inspecting, and reporting damages or discrepancies. The Associate ensures safe, efficient equipment operation and performs all duties as assigned.

As part of the DSV team, the Associate meets company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and complies with all corporate and site‑specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shipping: operate a gas or electric forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack materials. Load orders accurately and efficiently according to doors and trailers, following Standard Operating Procedures.

Receiving: operate a forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, and store products. Locate and place product in appropriate storage areas, following Standard Operating Procedures.

Picking: accurately pick orders to meet client demands, stage products, package, band, shrink wrap, and label as required. Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Quality Control: use documentation to verify all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly. Report damages or discrepancies and perform packaging, shrink wrap, and labeling. Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: execute all safety protocols, maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, and assist in warehouse security. Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.

Equipment Operation: operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, aisle master, or pallet jack. Maintain equipment upkeep and report problems. Inspect and perform minor maintenance daily. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain an active forklift certification.

Maintenance: assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Other Duties: perform other duties as assigned; work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.

Minimum Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Six months of experience in a logistics, distribution, or related environment.

Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE).

Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.

1–3 years forklift experience.

Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands

Occasionally: handling/fingering, sitting.

Frequently: bending.

Constantly: walking and standing.

Lift/carry/push/pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment The employee rarely is exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
