Summary Directs and monitors the daily activities in assigned nursing department to ensure standards of patient care are met. Plans, delegates, and directs comprehensive nursing care by assigning, instructing, and leading a team of professional and/or ancillary staff. Serves as clinical and professional resource and performs the duties and responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse II. Performs other duties as designated by the Manager or Assistant Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding of the Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Serve as a clinical resource and role model in the delivery of care.

Demonstrate understanding of the Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Promote the professional and ancillary team in delivering Relationship‑Based Care.

Assign, coordinate, lead, direct, and monitor staff work to ensure patients receive necessary quantity and quality of care and that daily objectives are met.

Match patient needs to the knowledge and skill sets of staff members.

Provide the Manager, Assistant Clinical Manager, or designee with reports of unusual events.

Develop and maintain open and effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other care providers on the unit, and build constructive relationships throughout the hospital.

Seek certification in the field of Rehabilitative Nursing within one year of hire.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Rhode Island or licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Graduate of a nursing school and licensed to practice as an RN in Rhode Island.

BSN and specialty certification preferred.

Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Minimum of 2–3 years nursing experience in the assigned area.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Pay Range $37.13 – $74.26
