Summary

The typical seasonal entry‑on‑duty period is May‑November, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2026.

Duties Rate of Pay by Duty Location: Oneida, TN – $21.55 – $25.17 per hour. Stearns, KY – $21.08 – $24.64 per hour.

Open to the first 100 applicants or until 01/14/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 PM (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Assist journey‑level, or other higher graded maintenance workers under general supervision in general landscaping and grounds maintenance, basic carpentry, simple electrical installations or repairs, basic plumbing work, and painting interior and exterior surfaces, and perform a variety of janitorial services.

Assist in the performance of building maintenance work including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.

Mow and trim lawn areas, remove weeds, sweep walks and other common areas, remove trash, prepare landscaping beds, make minor repairs to buildings and structures.

Perform basic carpentry, simple electrical, basic plumbing, basic janitorial services and general landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Make simple measurements using tape measure and square.

Follow written instructions to perform tasks. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for use of power tools and safety.

Use simple hand tools and other power tools.

Prepare surfaces for painting, select and use a variety of cleaning agents, mix and thin painting materials and select appropriate lumber size and type.

Conditions of Employment

U.S. Citizenship required.

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.

Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.

Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.

May be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of official duties, including annual affidavit and driver’s license verification.

May be required to complete training and operate a four‑wheel drive vehicle.

Uniform required; allowance provided.

May be required to work on‑call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime work.

Government housing might be available.

May be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month; must obtain a government charge card.

Government Charge Card training and maintenance may be required.
