Overview of Role The Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Technician Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical support and expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and control systems. The role requires in‑depth knowledge of robotics, automation, PLCs, electronics, and related equipment. Key duties include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting PLC‑controlled machinery, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Advanced Technical Skills – Expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and control systems.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting – Quickly identify and resolve complex system failures or performance issues, minimizing downtime.
Preventive Maintenance Expertise – Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance reliability.
Safety & Compliance – Understand and enforce OSHA, EPA, and company safety protocols.
Leadership & Mentoring – Lead projects and mentor less experienced technicians.
Communication & Documentation – Document maintenance activities and communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and vendors.
Key Deliverables
Perform specialized maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and control systems.
Lead and manage preventive maintenance tasks, addressing potential issues before they cause downtime.
Diagnose and repair advanced technical issues using specialized tools.
Oversee installation, setup, and calibration of new systems and equipment.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
Prioritize maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
Develop and recommend maintenance process improvements.
Maintain accurate maintenance records.
Plan and execute major repairs, upgrades, or installations.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.
Collaborate with engineering and other departments to optimize system performance.
Responsibilities The Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Technician Specialist will:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex equipment.
Diagnose and repair PLC‑controlled machinery and automated systems.
Collaborate with engineers and team members.
Mentor junior technicians.
Contribute to maintenance strategy development.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred).
5+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems maintenance.
Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing complex systems.
Proficiency with CMMS for work‑order tracking and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Exceptional problem‑solving skills and independence.
Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.
Desired Qualifications
Certifications in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, or mechanical engineering.
Experience with building automation systems (BAS), PLCs, or advanced control systems.
Project management experience for large‑scale maintenance or installation projects.
Knowledge of energy management systems and sustainability initiatives.
Technology Requirements
Proficiency with CMMS for scheduling and reporting.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools (vibration analysis, thermography, multimeters).
Knowledge of BAS, PLCs, and control systems.
Other Requirements
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and on‑call shifts.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and at elevated heights.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
Willingness to pursue professional development and certifications.
