Carilion Clinic, a leading not-for-profit health care organization serving over 1 million people in Virginia and surrounding states, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurocritical Care Physician to join our growing and dynamic Neurocritical Care team in Roanoke, VA. This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary, academic team delivering state-of-the-art care in a dedicated 20-bed Neuro ICU within Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital—a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients
Collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and critical care teams
Participate in resident and medical student education through Carilion’s affiliation with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine
Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to the continued growth and development of neurocritical care services at Carilion Clinic
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Neurocritical care fellowship trained from a UCNS/ACGME accredited fellowship program.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurocritical Care (UCNS or ABPN pathway preferred)
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Commitment to academic excellence and teaching
