Location: Onsite Newton, NC
Work Schedule: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday to Friday overtime and weekends as required
Travel: None
Supervision: None
Pay: $20.07/hour $1.00/hour shift differential
Position Summary This role is responsible for operating production machinery with a strong commitment to quality and process accountability. Responsible for following safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Collaboration and open communication with Quality Control and other departments is essential to resolving issues, supporting audits, and ensuring products meet specifications.
Essential Functions
Operates water jet, inspects machine as required and inspects cutting blocks for durability. Accountable for ensuring dies are accurately programmed into the water jet computer.
Operates the punch press, properly install dies manually and inspects dies for defects.
Ensures Work in Progress (WIP) material and grades match work order requirements. Inspects all WIP sheets for visual defects and inspects test cuts for proper measurement, alignment, and cut quality. Inspects pads for visual defects, and removes dust and debris.
Packages product as specified in the production work order in accordance with established work order procedures and ensures product label information is accurate. Records finished goods and broke in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Adheres to safety procedures including but not limited to wearing personal protective equipment, safe forklift operation, appropriate handling of production/warehouse equipment and tools, and use of proper lifting techniques. Ensures work area is clean, safe, and free of mechanical problems. Works with safety and maintenance as applicable to correct all issues. Performs safety inspections on machinery as required.
Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) compliance standards and participates in audit proceedings as necessary.
Collaborates with the Quality Control (QC) technicians to ensure product quality specifications are met including the documentation of pertinent data electronically or manually in daily logs, journals, or QC manufacturing modules.

Assists other workstations as required.
Perform other Converting Operator duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
Highschool Diploma/GED required.
Manufacturing and forklift operation experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) Required
Understanding of how water jets, punch presses and related machinery operate.
Understanding of GMP and ISO requirements.
Skilled in identifying defects, contamination, or irregularities in manufactured products.
Competence in packing products according to written work order instructions.
Ability to perform tasks according to work instructions, SOPs, and Quality standards.
Ability to observe equipment and identify adjustments and maintenance issues.
Ability to adhere to established safety protocols.

Maintain adequate hearing to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
Maintain visual acuity to read paper documents, computer screens, and inspect products.
Working Conditions
Environment: Primarily works in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
Safety Requirements: Must adhere to all company safety policies, wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), and comply with OSHA and facility safety standards.
