It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**The primary purpose of the Pharmacy Consultant (Nursing Home Surveyor) position is to evaluate nursing homes for compliance with federal and state requirements through both standard and complaint surveys. In making compliance determinations, the Pharmacy Consultant applies numerous laws, regulations, rules, and protocols established by state and federal agencies. Decisions may be made independently or in collaboration with a team of peers. The Pharmacy Consultant typically spends at least three days per week in the field conducting nursing home surveys, with the remaining time dedicated to completing survey reports and documenting complaint findings. This position is not assigned to a specific team and will float among teams based on business needs.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**Salary Range: 93,644 - $187,286Recruitment Range: $93,644 - $122,355*Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.**The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred.** Candidates with experience as consulting pharmacists in a nursing home setting will be considered more competitive. Additionally, candidates who have successfully passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test will have a competitive advantage.**This position is funded in part through federal funds.****This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.****The Division of Health Service Regulation** oversees medical, mental health and adult care facilities, emergency medical services, and local jails. We check to see that people receiving care in these facilities are safe and receive appropriate care.
