Job Summary:
Supervises activities of all hourly employees in assigned departments, monitoring yields, efficiencies, and safety.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
Supervises the work of all hourly employees in assigned departments.
Trains, assigns duties, conducts performance reviews, terminates, communicates policies, and motivates employees.
Reports machinery malfunctions to the maintenance department.
Supervises housekeeping of the department.
Ensures safety, ergonomics, and job training for all employees under supervision, providing proper protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of equipment.
Manages department efficiency, cost, and quality of departmental goals.
Reviews financials and performance, developing and implementing action plans to address departmental efficiencies during monthly meetings.
Secondary Functions/Duties:
Performs other supervisory duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications/Experience/License:
One to three years of poultry plant process experience is desired.
Demonstrated successful supervisory skills, preferably in poultry processing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent team building and leadership skills.
Knowledge of UKG Pro/Dimensions HRIS system.
Educational Requirements:
College graduate with a degree in Poultry Science or another agriculture discipline preferred.
High School graduate.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, and climb.
Must be able to think analytically and work well in a team situation.
May be required to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and wet environment.
Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day.
