Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Project Management, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of all assigned projects within scope, cost, schedule, and resources. You will manage and facilitate the development and engineering administration of projects from inception through completion of the construction contract. Projects include those funded wholly or partially by local agency funds, developer funds, Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), State Highway Operational and Protection Program (SHOPP), storm damage, seismic projects, minors, and other Capital Outlay funded and oversight projects. You will represent the Department at public hearings and other forums.
Qualifications & Minimum Requirements
Valid Professional Engineer license issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Valid driver’s license.
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) addressing the required questions (maximum 2 pages, 12‑point font).
Experience and knowledge in Project Management, project development process, public communication, project team leadership, and project approval document review.
Additional qualifications are listed in the Classification Specification.
Working Conditions Work in a climate‑controlled office under artificial lighting. May work outside the office and be exposed to weather elements such as sun, wind, fog, and rain.
