Position Summary Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique
Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique
Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed
Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities
Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing
Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization
Application of principles, theories and concepts
Follow established procedures and guidelines
Work under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions
Use established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
Exercise limited judgment in resolving problems
Primary contacts are direct supervisor, peers and subordinates
Expertise: Qualifications – Education / Experience / Training / Etc Required:
High school diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent
0‑2 years related experience
Applicable industry/professional certification
Regular and predictable on‑site attendance
cGMP training/experience desired (training will be provided)
Aseptic processing training/experience desired (training will be provided)
CA Pharmacy Technician License required
Schedule: 8:30 am–5:00 pm; variable days including weekends and holidays; overtime as needed
Salary range: $24.44 – $36.08 per hour
Job involves regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 20 pounds, and handling of chemicals. Requires use of hands, arms, hearing, vision, and frequent use of keyboards and other office equipment.
Physical Demands Moderate work – exerting up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Predominantly involves sitting, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting.

Frequently: finger feeling, handling, pushing/pulling, reaching upward and downward, talking (ordinary, loud/quick)
Constantly: hearing (ordinary, fine distinction, loud), reaching upward and downward, seeing (depth perception, color vision, field of vision), standing
