Laboratory Technician

Salary/Pay Rate: Grade 14: Step A ($45,228.04) through Step E ($49,923.30) DOQ/DOE Posted Date: 12/31/2025 2:08 PM Deadline to Apply: 02/06/2026 4:00 PM This position performs technical functions in the collection and analysis of water and wastewater samples and in the preparation of related reports. Collects and analyzes wastewater samples taken at different stages of the treatment process as required by EPA and Georgia EPD guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and permit requirements. Collects and analyzes all drinking water samples as required by Georgia EPD, to include performing microbiological, chlorine, fluoride, and other tests. Prepares daily reports; maintains laboratory data and relays relevant data to plant operations personnel. Maintains and calibrates all laboratory equipment. Conducts quality control as required by department standard operating procedures to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results. Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment. Maintain inventory of reagents and materials; handles chemicals in compliance with MSDS and other safety requirements.
