Assignment Details

Start ASAP with ongoing coverage needs
Scheduled clinical hours plus call
Clinic and call coverage approximately two weeks per month
Clinic hours generally 8am-5pm, with earlier starts on surgical days as needed
Call is beeper-based with a 15-minute response time and an expected ratio of 1:2 or 1:3
Practice includes inpatient, outpatient, and procedural responsibilities
Rounding on assigned and unassigned patients is required
Admissions required
EMR: Cerner
Temporary privileges available

Clinical Details

Patient volume averages 16-20 patients per shift
Case mix includes approximately 60% clinic, 10% hospital, and 30% procedures/surgeries
Typical procedures include cystoscopy, stent placement and removal, prostate biopsy, vasectomy, and bladder instillation
Equipment available includes X-ray, cystoscopes, rigid scope, bladder scanner, and TRUS
Provider must be comfortable treating occasional pediatric urology cases, including testicular torsion presenting through the ER
Support includes nursing, medical assistants, and multiple advanced practice providers

Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in Urology
No specific state license requirement
BLS required
Ability to manage general urology with adult patients and limited pediatric exposure
Experience with laparoscopic and robotic surgery is required
Comfort with call responsibilities and inpatient care
