Specimen Collector I - Phlebotomy Join to apply for the Specimen Collector I - Phlebotomy role at Aegis Sciences Corporation 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Specimen Collector - Phlebotomy is responsible for collecting biological specimens (including blood) at client sites for the purpose of conducting scientific testing. Duties will include maintaining the integrity of the collection process, maintaining records for reporting purposes, obtaining initial insurance verification for billing purposes, and packaging the specimens for shipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Foster open communication between the client and Aegis Sales Management Follow SOPs for sample collection Ensure the integrity of each “Chain of Custody” and sample: Sufficient sample volume Samples properly labeled and sealed Ensure sample requisitions are complete and all information is correct Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) “FLUID” for sample submissions Answer questions from clients/patients regarding Aegis policies Complete and maintain required compliance training (HIPAA, Annual Lease Agreements where required) Comply with all applicable safety requirements, including PPE Order supplies and manage budget with RSM and ASM as required Verify insurance information through Passport as needed Request/collect payments from patients (where applicable) Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager Support ASM/RSM in marketing and sales objectives with regard to sample collection Maintain excellent knowledge of Aegis testing services Encompass a “can do” attitude and represent Aegis professionally and positively Participate in process improvements (definition, measurement, implementation of controls) Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill Other duties as required and assigned A Successful Candidate Must Possess High School diploma or GED required Completion of a phlebotomy training program (from an accredited school or certification program); or a minimum of three (3) years of blood collection experience Must meet state phlebotomy certification requirements (where required) Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining focus on quality and confidentiality Experience in the medical field preferred Excellent customer service skills are essential Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to multitask while maintaining quality and attention to detail; ability to interact with staff at all levels Basic computer knowledge (email, web navigation, username/password management, USB usage, typing ≥40 wpm, Windows OS familiarity, tablet and stylus use, file/folder management, security measures) Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (40 hrs/wk) Aegis Sciences Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
