Job Description Oracle is seeking a Critical Facility Technician Building Engineer specializing in large Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment to join our Data Center Facilities Engineering Team. The role involves operating, maintaining, and optimizing large UPS systems and related critical infrastructure. Responsibilities Perform hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational tasks on large UPS systems, following established protocols to ensure peak performance and safety. Process and complete maintenance tasks efficiently via a digital facility management system. Develop and maintain in‑depth knowledge of large UPS systems, battery technologies, and related infrastructure; complete required training certifications. Respond promptly to facility emergencies involving power disruptions, following predefined procedures. Conduct regular assessments of UPS equipment, battery banks, electrical systems, and safety pathways. Diagnose issues in UPS systems, assess performance, and propose upgrades to improve efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with external contractors to ensure compliance with operational standards during maintenance or upgrades. Escalate operational issues affecting UPS performance to facility leadership. Identify and suggest improvements to enhance the maintenance and operational framework for UPS systems. Operate on a rotating shift schedule, including potential night and holiday shifts. Use digital tools in a control center to monitor UPS systems, manage alerts, and allocate resources effectively. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience maintaining and operating large UPS systems or related technical maintenance fields. Capability to work at heights and use ladders safely. Ability to lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Comfortable sitting or standing at a workstation for prolonged periods. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in critical environments such as data centers, industrial facilities, or power plants. Professional certification or licensure in electrical systems or UPS‑specific training. Familiarity with digital facility management systems used for monitoring UPS performance. In‑depth understanding of critical facility power infrastructure, including batteries and backup generators. Knowledge of electrical, power monitoring, and safety systems used in high‑stakes environments. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or one‑line diagrams for UPS and electrical systems. Salary Range US: $87,000 – $178,100 per year, plus potential bonus and equity.
