Seeking a
Senior Database Administrator
to provide robust SQL support for the Right Angle (CTRM-Commodity Trading and Risk Management) environment and other SQL platforms. The role includes managing
SQL Server 2012/2016 , performing
query tuning ,
database maintenance ,
performance monitoring , and
troubleshooting . Responsibilities extend to supporting security, coordinating installations, assisting in
Azure cloud migration , and handling backup, audit, and compliance requests. This position requires onsite work
Monday to Thursday , with
alternate Fridays remote , following a
9/80 schedule . Occasional
after-hours support
may be necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Modelers, and ELT teams to design and implement data pipelines aligned with reporting metrics Provide SQL support for Right Angle and other database environments Support production and development database environments, including backup tasks Administer SQL Server 2012/2016 platforms Tune SQL queries and monitor performance Conduct regular database maintenance activities (e.g., indexing, cleanup) Troubleshoot system configurations and query errors Implement and support security measures for servers and databases Coordinate software and hardware installations Assist with migration of platforms from on-prem to Azure Cloud Support backup strategies and audit/compliance data requests Participate in other technical tasks related to database and server operations Provide after-hours support as needed: Nights (Mon-Thu: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Central Time) Weekends (Fri-Sun: 24-hour coverage) Holidays (24-hour coverage) Non-standard hour work will be communicated with at least 7 business days' notice (exceptions for emergencies) Required Experience and Qualifications
Technical Experience
Minimum 15 years of experience in SQL Server database administration Hands-on SQL administration, preferably in Right Angle or similar environments Proficiency in SQL Server 2012/2016 Strong query tuning and performance optimization skills Experience with database maintenance, backups, indexing, and integrity checks Skilled in troubleshooting SQL queries and configurations Knowledge of database monitoring tools Implementation of
security best practices
