Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web‑scale cloud computing easier and more cost effective for developers. The EC2 Capacity Customer Experience (CCX) team ensures the right capacity is available for customers through forecasting, planning, guidance and execution, especially for large unpredictable scaling events.
The team is searching for a passionate, driven, and talented technical program manager to own customer planning for AWS Trainium, the machine learning chip purpose‑built for deep learning training. This role serves as EC2’s primary POC for managing demand intake, organizing supportability scenarios to influence VP+ business decisions, and ensuring infrastructure and EC2 teams execute against global commitments. The customer‑facing role includes driving key initiatives that support goals/KPIs measured and reported to executive leadership, driving process improvements, and collaborating with engineering organizations to build new technologies that automate various aspects of EC2 Capacity planning.
From Day 1, Technical Program Managers are given ownership and autonomy to think strategically and make data‑driven decisions, along with the ability to drive significant impact on the customer experience and the business. This role requires working with professionals in many domains including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance, with high visibility to senior leaders at AWS.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
3+ years of software development experience
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
