Boston Human Capital Partners Inc
We’re looking for a hands‑on engineering leader who knows how to inherit, evolve, and scale software—not just dream it up on a whiteboard. This role is equal parts architect, people leader, and operator. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, improving imperfect systems, and leading globally distributed teams with urgency and clarity, keep reading.
The Role You’ll own the design and delivery of high-quality software across our platform, including integrating future M&A products into a cohesive architecture. This is not a “delegate-only” role—you’ll be close to the code, the people, and the decisions. You’ll lead a distributed engineering organization while partnering closely with Product and the broader leadership team to move fast, ship smart, and scale deliberately.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Own the architecture, codebase, and technical direction of the platform
Lead and evolve a distributed engineering team (onshore, nearshore, offshore)
Drive delivery with a strong bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating
Establish and enforce coding standards, testing practices, and delivery processes
Lead architectural initiatives including legacy code evolution and M&A integrations
Partner deeply with Product to translate business priorities into technical execution
Act as a key voice on the leadership team with board-level exposure
Coach and develop engineering managers and senior contributors
The Team Today
2 Engineering Managers (Houston-based)
~12 contract developers and testers (nearshore/offshore)
You’ll have the opportunity—and expectation—to shape what this team becomes.
What We’re Looking For This role is ideal for someone who has been a VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, CTO, Architect, or an Engineering Leader in a SaaS or product-driven environment—especially small to mid-sized companies or autonomous teams within larger orgs.
You Are:
A hands‑on architect who can dive into code when needed
Comfortable inheriting legacy systems and making them better
Opinionated (in a good way) about architecture, testing, and delivery
Energized by improving Angular-based systems and component architecture
A builder of teams, processes, and standards—not just features
Calm but urgent; strategic but biased toward action
You Bring:
Deep software development experience (architecture, delivery, testing)
Strong Agile instincts with a pragmatic approach to process
Experience scaling systems and teams (more growth + scale than 0→1)
Excellent communication skills—technical and non‑technical
A coaching mindset; your team comes to you for help, not permission
Nice to Have (Not Required):
Security experience
Azure infrastructure
Database expertise
Broader IT and systems knowledge
Why This Role Is Compelling
True ownership of the platform and future architecture
Influence over M&A technical strategy as the company grows
Board exposure and equity
The chance to design the team and processes the right way
Clear trajectory to CTO
Compensation & Location
Must reside in Houston or Austin Area
Comp 250k Base + bonus and Equity
