Position Summary:
The Restaurant General Manager (GM) will oversee the daily operations of Loggerhead Grill and pool and beach operations, located at The Sanctuary. The GM will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing restaurant staff, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards in food, service, and ambiance. The role will involve leadership, financial management, training, and creating a positive and motivating work environment.
Pay Rate:
The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto‑generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a restaurant management role, preferably in a similar environment (casual upscale dining or resort setting).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team and foster a collaborative work environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
Solid financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, cost controls, and profitability.
Proficient in restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.
Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred but not required.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the front and back‑of‑house.
Maintain high standards of food quality, service, and hygiene in accordance with The Sanctuary's guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Manage inventory control, order supplies, and track cost of goods sold.
Implement strategies for improving operational efficiency, minimizing waste, and maximizing profitability.
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of servers, bartenders, and support staff.
Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.
Develop and implement training programs to ensure the team adheres to the restaurant and Forbes service standards.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Promote a positive team environment to retain staff and minimize turnover.
Customer Service:
Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests by ensuring the team provides excellent, consistent service.
Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints in a professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor guest satisfaction and implement improvements when necessary.
Encourage repeat business through loyalty‑building strategies.
Develop and manage budgets, including labor and food cost controls.
Monitor daily sales reports, financial records, and set sales goals.
Ensure accurate cash handling procedures and oversee end‑of‑day financial processes.
Analyze financial performance and make necessary adjustments to improve profitability.
Marketing and Business Development:
Assist in developing and executing marketing initiatives, including promotions, and events.
Establish relationships with local vendors and organizations to grow brand awareness.
Monitor local market trends and competitor activity to adapt business strategies.
Collaboration with The Sanctuary Management:
Work closely with The Sanctuary's management to ensure alignment with the resort's overall goals.
Ensure restaurant, pool & beach operations align with the resort's brand and guest experience expectations.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be available for shift work, including weekends and holidays.
