Join our highly skilled, cross-locational Risk Analyst Business Engineering team, where you’ll make a real impact by empowering Risk and Front Office to operate at their best. Dive into the fast-moving worlds of electricity and gas and help steer RWE’s ambitious market journey forward.
You’ll become a sought-after subject matter expert, shaping new processes, and delivering best-in-class training as we adapt to the rapidly evolving trading landscape. This is your opportunity to develop deep knowledge in a global core system (Endur), work closely with diverse colleagues, and be at the centre of shaping new market entries and business models.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain changes to Endur supporting the New Business Approval Process (NBAP)
Tackle complex trade and price-curve modelling in Endur, including managing market data processes
Operate and enhance trade capture and market data processes – both day-to-day and at a strategic level (e.g., developing deal templates, Nexus volume uploads)
Respond to queries from Risk, Front Office and Back Office on trade capture and valuation, including stress testing and Value-at-Risk calculations
Deliver engaging training to ensure alignment and adoption of agreed new processes within the business
Champion continuous improvement and standardisation, always striving to make things work better across teams
Job requirements and experience
A university degree in a numerate discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Science, or equivalent
Solid understanding of market risk, with a talent for analysing and solving complex challenges
Familiarity with commodity trading and exposure to full trade lifecycle processes for both physical and financial instruments across electricity, gas, LNG, and RECs certificates
Confident communicator, able to translate technical concepts for both specialist and non-specialist audiences
Excellent organisational skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities with attention to detail
Adept at building constructive working relationships in a collaborative, international environment
Technical proficiency with OpenLink Endur, Oracle SQL, and Microsoft Excel
High level of self-motivation with ability to quickly pick up new systems, tasks, and ways of working
Advantageous, but not essential
Broader understanding of commodity trading (across Power, PPAs, Green Certificates, EUA, Metal, Weather, IR, FX, and Cross Commodities) and knowledge of global market nuances
Good grasp of value-at-risk, option valuation theory, options “Greeks”, and stress testing methodologies
