Schedule: Per Diem – Minimum of 32 shifts a year (16 from January–June and 16 from July–December) with weekend and holiday coverage.
Job Summary In the Emergency Department you will provide immediate acute care to patients. Your responsibilities include triage, assessment, treatment, and documentation. The department contains 29 beds and has 24‑hour access to X‑rays, CT, ultrasounds (24/7), and MRIs (most of the day). It is also a Primary Stroke Center.
The Registered Nurse is a Massachusetts‑registered professional who plans and delivers patient care in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and the Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills, and manages patient care from assessment through evaluation under the supervision of a nurse manager or supervisor. The RN also practices the Patient and Family Centered Care Model.
Qualifications
BSN required
Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
Must obtain ACLS prior to end of orientation; ACLS is required for independent practice
PALS preferred
2 years’ ED experience required
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Evidence of basic analytic thinking for patient group care
Observational skills and ability to set priorities
Adherence to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
