This Is What You'll Do Ensure total operation compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain the highest production standards. Maintain a high level of customer service and a positive donor experience in line with company values and culture. Keep the work area clean and professional. Review and confirm donor identification and maintain confidentiality per Standard Operating Procedures. Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. Label and ensure each unit and sample is labeled accurately. Execute venipunctures and plasma collections, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Operate the automated plasmapheresis machines, responding to and evaluating all machine alarms and alerts, donor adverse events, and documenting exceptions. Monitor donor conditions and employ techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality. Maintain proper ratios to ensure donor safety and quality of product. Disconnect donors and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment according to safety protocols, including cleaning spills and proper waste disposition. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines, removing and/or replacing equipment as needed. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records, including Plasmapheresis Machine Logs. Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management. Maintain and restock adequate inventory on plasma carts. Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance. Diagnose and troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform routine quality controls on equipment. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned. This Is What It Takes High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Relevant certification or licensing based on state requirements. Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health‑care environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Completion of documentation of training appropriate for duties before performing them independently. Strong customer service skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Accuracy and completeness in documentation. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort throughout shift, flexibility with schedule). Willingness to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts frequently. Ability to perform venipuncture. Effective communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty‑five pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Ability to use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18 in. away for extended periods. Ability to operate within an environment with a temperature of -40 °C according to Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests. Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
