Construction Management Data Analyst
DPR Construction is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support our Self Perform Work (SPW) division. The SPW division hires and manages craft workforces for various scopes including Concrete, Drywall, Electrical, Interiors, Waterproofing, and more. This role will be the primary data analyst, supporting our SPW division by engaging with stakeholders—from front‑line field supervisors and craft foremen to project managers, project executives, and corporate leadership—to build data strategies and deliver actionable insights that drive our data‑driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership / Roadmap / Execution / Delivery
Be a collaborative partner with SPW business partners and other parts of the business to align data analytics efforts with goals.
Create, maintain, and execute the data analytics roadmap for SPW in alignment with overall objectives.
Drive conversations with stakeholders to fully understand and document pain points and focus on successful outcomes.
Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and understand their processes, tools, and goals.
Apply construction‑management knowledge to guide development of data‑driven insights with SPW leaders and front‑line managers.
Lead the development and implementation of long‑term solutions, listening to diverse voices.
Visualization / Storytelling
Work with stakeholders to understand and align on business requirements.
Create and maintain dashboards and apps as required.
Deliver actionable insights to improve business processes and drive strategic conversations.
Track and monitor usage metrics to assess adoption and impact.
Complete ad‑hoc analysis as required.
Troubleshoot Issues / Failures
Identify root source of data integrity issues across reports, data flows, and source systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity issues in visualization tools.
Data Modeling And ETL
Create complex data models in visualization tools and perform transformations.
Query the data warehouse using SQL to analyze datasets.
Clean data as needed.
Identify potential new datasets and integrations for the data warehouse.
Collaborate with technical analysts to build requirements for views in DBT and the warehouse.
Documentation
Work with data engineering on the data catalog.
Maintain documentation of queries, transformations, and refresh schedules.
Security / Governance
Implement data security and governance guidelines.
Maintain security for data flows.
Grant access to data flows, reports, and apps as requested.
Create and maintain Row‑Level Security in visualization tools.
Collaborate with stakeholders on security requirements.
Change Management
Conduct impact analysis on reports when source systems change.
Communicate impacts to stakeholders and customers.
Coordination / Collaboration / Prioritization
Identify data collaboration opportunities across disciplines.
Coordinate alignment across T&I groups.
Support AI/ML/Data Science initiatives.
Prioritize requests based on business impact and resources.
Participate in integrated workgroup meetings.
Training / Data Literacy
Train end‑users on dashboards and insights.
Teach how to build customized reports.
Provide on‑job training to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain self‑service analytics tools.
Improve data literacy through targeted training.
Data SME
Act as subject matter expert on data availability, quality, processes, and technology.
Understand and articulate the benefits and limitations of the data pipeline architecture.
Ensure source of truth systems are operational.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related, plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor’s plus 5 years of experience.
Experience in the construction industry and familiarity with industry trends and terminology.
Experience with self‑perform teams and craft workforce management.
Experience with construction project controls (Earned Value, productivity, schedule, and cost management).
Passion for data and business intelligence to optimize outcomes.
Proven record converting business pain points into data solutions.
Strong analytic skills (data mining, evaluation, analysis, visualization).
Ability to create data models and understand source‑system dependencies.
Proficiency in Power BI and dataflows; advanced knowledge of SQL scripting.
Experience consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL).
Advanced business acumen and operational knowledge.
Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated success in building trusted relationships with clients and customers.
Drive to accomplish tasks and adapt in changing environments.
