We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to support key human resources functions, including compliance with wage and employment law, recruitment processes, and the creation of offer letters and related documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable handling confidential information while delivering excellent employee and candidate support.
Key Responsibilities Compliance & HR Administration
Assist in ensuring company compliance with federal, state, and local wage and employment laws .
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including new hire information, personnel files, and compliance documents.
Support the HR team in implementing HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assist with the full-cycle recruiting process , including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and manage timelines.
Conduct reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment processes as needed.
Prepare and distribute offer letters , employment agreements, and onboarding documentation.
Ensure all paperwork complies with relevant employment laws and internal guidelines.
Support new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee integration activities.
General HR Support
Respond to employee questions about HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
Assist with HR projects such as audits, process improvements, and employee engagement initiatives.
Maintain HR systems, update employee data, and generate reports when needed.
Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of wage and employment law (FLSA, state-specific regulations, etc.).
3-5 years of experience in HR support, recruiting, or related functions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications Experience drafting or generating offer letters and onboarding documents.
Prior involvement with full-cycle recruitment.
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
