NURSING UNIT SECRETARY - JRI - PT EVENINGS WITH BENEFITS

Join us as a Nursing Unit Secretary to support nursing staff with administrative tasks, communication, and patient record management.
Overview

Responsibilities
Perform administrative tasks to support daily nursing workflow as directed by RN in Charge.
Act as liaison for patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
Manage unit communication systems (phones, call‑bells, Careboard).
Ensure supplies and equipment are adequately maintained.
Attend NUS and unit staff meetings; support nursing staff as needed.
Prepare and maintain patient medical records, including chart documentation and accurate labeling.
Enter physician orders into computerized order entry system.
Prepare discharge and/or transfer documentation.
Assist physicians in retrieving records and diagnostic results.
Maintain timely Patient Horizon Scheduler (PHS).
Assist the Nurse Manager with meeting minutes, memos, and other clerical duties.
Participate in daily rounds to ensure patient safety and positive experience.
Conduct environmental rounds; address hazards and complete follow‑up.
Assist in emergency situations as necessary.
Attend unit‑specific staff meetings.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Adhere to HMH organizational and managerial competencies.
Lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 5 lbs.; standing a minimum of 1 hour per day.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Computer proficiency.
Preferred: 1–2 years experience as a secretary in an acute care setting; exceptional interpersonal skills and functional competencies.
Compensation
Minimum hourly rate: $18.36. Hourly rate may vary based on market data, experience, education, and other factors.
