Prime Air is seeking a Maintenance Technician who combines technical skills with a passion for maintaining machinery and aircraft. This person will be responsible for drone maintenance and routine service, ensuring the aircraft conforms to design and that vehicles are in safe operating condition. The candidate will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on their assigned responsibilities. Strong analytical skills, a self‑starter mindset, and the ability to work independently are required.
Key Responsibilities
Drive time‑based and condition‑based maintenance activities
Show understanding of fleet performance metrics
Verify adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
Manage fleet spare parts and inventory
Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
Follow detailed instructions outlined in technical manuals
Perform physical tasks such as carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for up to 12 hours, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching
Work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel up to 25% of the time
Basic Qualifications
Experience in mechanical and electrical integration or assembly
Experience installing sub‑assemblies and assemblies while working to drawings or CAD files
Proficiency with common business applications and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Physical ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs and perform related tasks during shifts up to 12 hours
Availability to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms
Additional Information
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on the applicant’s behalf.
This position may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety‑sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant’s DOT drug and/or alcohol testing history prior to hiring.
