Job Title: Part Time Dental Assistant
Location: Dental Care Center of South Kansas City
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team. As an essential part of our practice, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and comfortable environment for our patients, ensuring high-quality care while supporting the dentist in both clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check‑ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures and assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry.
Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
Lab Tasks & Post‑Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post‑operative care instructions.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, including charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensure the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions.
Regulated Tasks: Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Open to all experience levels.
Certification: Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA), EFDA, or Radiology Certifications are a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
In‑depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.
Clinical Competence: Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks and assist with other dental procedures.
Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Team‑Oriented: Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high‑quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Certifications: EFDA, Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.
